Data Deletion Instructions

1. Overview

AloPortal users can request deletion of their personal data and/or account at any time. We are committed to protecting your privacy and providing transparent data management options. To protect your information, we may need to verify your identity before processing any deletion request.

2. Delete from Inside AloPortal (Preferred)

The easiest way to delete your account is directly from within AloPortal:

  1. Log in to your AloPortal account
  2. Go to Settings → Account
  3. Select Delete Account (or Delete Portal if you only want to remove a specific portal)
  4. Confirm your request

3. Request Deletion via Email

If you cannot access your account, you can request deletion by email:

Send an email to support@aloportal.com with the subject line: Data Deletion Request

Please include the following information:

  • The email address associated with your AloPortal account
  • Your portal URL/slug (if applicable)
  • Whether you want:
    • (a) Full account deletion, or
    • (b) Deletion of specific data only

4. What We Delete

Depending on your request, we will delete the following data:

  • Account profile (email, username, profile photo)
  • Portals and portal settings
  • Posts, course metadata, and comments
  • Messages (or anonymized if applicable)
  • Uploaded media stored by AloPortal (images, files, video assets)

5. What We May Retain

Certain records may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes:

  • Payment and payout records required for legal, tax, and accounting compliance
  • Fraud and security logs (limited retention period)
  • Backup systems may retain data for a limited time before full removal

6. Processing Time

We aim to process deletion requests within 30 days of receiving a verified request. Full removal from backup systems may take up to 90 days.

7. Verification

To protect your account, we may request verification of your identity and ownership of the email address or portal before processing your deletion request.

8. Frequently Asked Questions

Can I delete just one portal?

Yes. If you have multiple portals, you can delete individual portals without deleting your entire account. Go to Settings → Portals, select the portal you want to remove, and choose Delete Portal.

What happens to my subscriptions?

Active subscriptions will be cancelled when your account is deleted. If you are a creator, your subscribers will lose access to your content. We recommend notifying your subscribers before deleting your portal.

What happens to my payout history?

Payout records are retained for legal and tax compliance purposes, even after account deletion. You may still access historical payout statements by contacting support with proper identity verification.
