My first hundred customers didn't come from ads or a viral post. They came from four boring habits I repeated every single week. Here they are, in the order they worked.
1. I sold to people I already knew
Friends, former coworkers, my neighbor. Not to sell to them, but to ask who they knew that had the problem. Twelve of my first twenty customers came from those introductions.
2. I showed up where my customers already were
A Saturday market stall taught me more about pricing and packaging than a year of reading. Real faces, real objections, real feedback.
3. I asked every buyer for one sentence
After every sale: what almost stopped you from buying? Those answers became my product page.
4. I followed up twice
Most of my first sales happened on the second message. People are busy, not uninterested.
